The standards at this institute is far below its capabilities. The principal has zero focus or concern for the betterment of students or the community. As the parent of a new student, she greeted me by questioning my abilities to park in a handicap park (near her park); as if she has a right to question my medical concerns or legality of it.
Her interaction with the students and teachers is a disgrace to the beloved Mr. Murray. Her demeanor portrays actions of a person who is arrogant and above others, she violates students personal space and is very touchy. Her position of authority, and her ego is not a good match for the pupils and the community. She's big on micromanaging, as if she cant learn from people she thinks she's above.
I visited her office, and she is extremely unorganized and unfocused. She took zero notes concerning my visit, and never followed up or replied to my emails. She could not provide direct or clear answers, nor reference me to the proper agencies.
Much pray is suggested for this school (and all schools), and the Bible says to pray for our leaders; therefore this principle shall be prayed for (no one is perfect, so I'll pray she gets better). Williamsburg County is in dire need of educators who are passionate, compassion, and committed to educating the youth.
The majority of the teachers are foreign with heavy accents, this could contribute to a learning barrier for some students. The school doesn't have enough books for all students, so all books stay in the classroom, or the school print worksheets, that students aren't allowed to take home. The learning strategies and modifications are substandard and is a major hindrance to the full potential of young men and women at CE Murray.
She does make an attempt to build a relationship with students by greeting them in the mornings as they arrive at the school. And she meets with them monthly to encourage improvement in behavior, by sharing statistics of disciplinary reports.
